ESSENTAL SKILLS Ball Handling Clinic for Kids!
A Watts High Energy Clinic where you learn the fun-da-mentals in an exciting and encouraging environment from Don Watts, professional basketball player and former Husky. The 3 ESSENTIAL keys covered in this clinic: Change of DIRECTION, SPEED AND TEMPO. Skills, drills and games will be focused on improving each player's hand-eye coordination, footwork, attack moves and confidence in protecting the ball. THE IRON KID - KID'S INDOOR TRIATHLON!
Saturday, February 27
The second WAC Kids Indoor Triathlon is a great way to teach your junior WAC , member healthy fitness habits! Participants will ride stationary bikes in Studio B, run on the track above the 8th Floor Gym, and finish with a swim in the 6th Floor Helene Madison Swimming Pool. Children will be separated into age groups with the first group beginning in Studio B on the Fourth Floor at 9:00 am. Competition rules and spectator information will be given out upon arrival. All participants will receive a bib number, t-shirt, water bottle, swimming cap and snack. The event will close with a pool party with the infamous 20-foot Wacness Monster and an awards ceremony. Each participant will be awarded a finish medal and the top winners in each age division will be awarded prizes.
Fee: $35

Ages 6-8: 1 mile bike, ¼ mile run, 50 yard swim
Ages 9-11: 2 mile bike, ½ mile run, 75 yard swim
Ages 12-14: 3 mile bike, ¾ mile run, 100 yard swim
WAC Running Track: 20 laps = 1 mile
WAC Pool: 1 length of pool = 25 yards
Saturday Junior Classes
Saturday Junior Classes are offered in six+ week sessions throughout the year from September through June. If more than one child per family enrolls in the same activity, the fee for each class is less. Children must be on a family membership to participate in any WAC Junior Classes. Please contact Member Services at 206.464.3068 or membership@wac.net to transfer to a family category prior to enrollment.
Parents enrolled in Saturday Junior Classes will receive a punch card for reduced WAC Parking rates: $3.75 for three hours.
Note: Children are not allowed in the 4th Floor Coed Conditioning area. Please supervise children at all times when entering or leaving the 4th Floor Studios.

Ballet
Pre-ballet is an introduction to ballet with an emphasis on body awareness, creativity and basic movement skills in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. At the beginning level, students will be introduced to some basic ballet technique in a noncompetitive, fun atmosphere. Basketball
Learn the basic skills of basketball and have fun at the same time! The instructor will cover dribbling, passing, free-throw techniques, ball handling, team concepts, defense strategies, low-post play, fast breaks and rebounding. Angie Claiborne instructs. Ages 4–5: 11:00 - 11:45 am

Family Judo Fun
The martial art of judo is a special form of wrestling emphasizing throws and grappling techniques. Traditions, discipline, respect and mental training are a few of its benefits. Channel that excess energy into a great skill. Family Karate
With Tom Tanaka’s expert instruction, learn basic karate punches and strikes, as well as endurance and listening skills. Gymnastics
Learn basic gymnastics skills in a gentle, fun, noncompetitive atmosphere. Kiddy Skills is an introduction to tumbling. Beginner students will learn tumbling and low balance beam. Class sizes are limited to ensure the safety of your child. Ages 3+ Kiddy Skills: 9:30–10:15 am Ages 4–5 Beginner: 10:15–11:00 am Ages 5–6 Beginner to Intermediate: 11:00 - 11:45 am

Terrific 2s and 3s Gymnastics
With the emphasis on fun and action, children will explore creative movement, learn listening skills and develop a sense of balance and coordination. Parent or caregiver joins in class. Late registration will be accepted on a space-available basis. Ages 2-3.

Basketball
Donald Watts, the WAC's basketball instructor, is ready to help juniors with their game. Learn the martial art and fundamentals of basketball.
Boxing
Boxing can be both a competitive sport and an aerobic workout. This very physical sport is considered a battle of wit, speed, agility, athleticism and determination. These are all things that must be developed in children as they grow, and boxing is a fantastic tool to facilitate that. Ages 7+.
Karate
Learning karate improves mental alertness, self-discipline, self-confidence and goal-setting skills. Learn basic karate punches, strikes, blocks and kicks from Tom Tanaka, the WAC’s karate instructor. Ages 5+.
