Adult swimming lessonsAdult Skill Builder I
Ages 18 and up This class is for adults who have had limited experience in the water. This class focuses on comfort and confidence in both shallow and deep water; learning the locomotion of the front and back crawl; introduction to breaststroke and butterfly and building endurance for lap swimming. Adult Skill Builder IIAges 18 and up This class is for adults who can swim laps and have a basic knowledge of all four primary strokes. Class covers breath control, refinement of stroke technique, starts and turns and endurance work. This is a great precursor to joining the WAC Masters Swim Team, more enhanced lap swimming or triathlon training. Water aerobicsCardio H2O water aerobicsTuesdays/Thursdays Water aerobics is a proven low-impact, fat-burning workout. The water creates resistance, which increases your strength and heart rate, making your workout thorough and challenging. The buoyancy of the water also reduces the impact of joint stress. Joints in MotionMondays/Wednesdays/Fridays Allow the soothing resistance of the water to ease joint and muscle aches and pains. This new class, which shares the pool with TLC, takes participants through gentle range-of-motion and joint mobility and flexibility exercises. It is appropriate for those recovering from an injury or suffering from arthritis or muscle pain and stiffness. Senior Fit Water ExerciseMondays–Fridays Hop in the pool for a fun and invigorating cardiovascular workout. This low– to moderate–intensity class utilizes the non–weight-bearing and resistive qualities of water to work all of the body's major muscle groups while minimizing joint stress. |
