Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic doctors (NDs) are licensed physicians who treat acute and chronic illnesses with the goal of achieving optimum health. NDs are clinically trained in a wide variety of treatment modalities that may include nutrition and lifestyle counseling; hormonal, glandular, botanical, vitamin and mineral supplements; physical methods of therapy; homeopathy; and others. ND services usually are covered by insurance. Dr. Bill Caradonna specializes in managing prescription medications and natural medicines, as well as treating athletic injuries.

Common conditions treated by naturopathic doctors include menopausal symptoms, PMS and menstrual disorders, stress and fatigue, insomnia, heartburn and intestinal disorders, diabetes and hypoglycemia, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and irregular heartbeat, hyperthyroid, hypothyroid, varicose veins, colds and flu, chronic ear and sinus infections, allergies and asthma, eczema and psoriasis, acute and chronic urinary tract infections, prostate problems, headaches and migraines.

Naturopaths can also address conditions such as chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, mercury and lead toxicity, candida overgrowth and immune system deficiency. Even arthritis and musculoskeletal injuries can be treated using a variety of non-drug methods.
