Why Weight?

Why Weight? is the WAC's formal weight management program. Our goal is to deliver results by tailoring a program to your individual metabolism while giving you the tools to make healthy habits an ongoing lifestyle. Why Weight? uses metabolic-testing procedures to determine how many calories your body burns at rest and during exercise. Testing your metabolism gives you an individualized dietary and exercise prescription that will allow your body to lose fat efficiently and effectively. The program uses segmental body fat analysis to determine your fat loss while making sure you are adding lean tissue, a vital part of changing your body.

The program includes working one-on-one with WAC Nutritionist Shana Hopkins and your own Why Weight? exercise coach, as well as attending a weekly group nutrition class. In all, the two-month program includes:

• Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) test

• Metabolic Exercise Test (MET)

• Body fat analysis

• Heart-rate training program and monitor

• Personalized nutrition consultation

• Resistance training with Why Weight? coach

• Access to conditioning areas

Eight-week sessions start at the beginning of each month

Additional options

Increased exercise coaching option

Add eight more sessions with your exercise coach, so that you meet twice per week for eight weeks

Intensive nutritional support option

Add six more weekly sessions of one-on-one nutrition (designed for those who need weekly monitoring and support)

Extra nutritional support option

Add three more sessions of one-on-one nutrition every other week (designed for those who need extra support and want their progress monitored in two-week blocks of time)
