Order in the courtly Alta Club

Oodles of old world charm and oaky finishes atone the historically significant Alta Club, the consummate private club hub for Salt Lake City-bound members. Hold court here within the club's historic walls and join a legion of good company that includes 126 years of top business, educational and political leaders.

This stately four-story stands out amongst its modern neighbors, and recently underwent a club wide $4.2 million renovation adding modern comforts without compromising the structure's original renaissance charm. Hard to fathom the Alta Club has been around longer than Utah has been a state! The downtown proximity appeals to fanny-packing tourists and the state's power elite alike. Both sets appreciate the mere half-block stroll to Temple Square's business district and famous sites like the eponymous Tabernacle.

Members and guests enjoy formal, casual, and private dining, workouts in the fitness room, a good read in the club's library, a spirit in the bar, round of pool in the billiard room, or web session in the business center. But it's stellar service that will bring you back.

"The people who run Alta on a day-to-day basis are very considerate," writes WAC member Paul Blaski, who stays here when the great Salt Lake beckons. WAC member Ken Freeman agrees: "The Alta Club is warm and welcoming," recalling the time when members invited him to join a wine tasting at the bar.

Add in another friendly asset-value. WAC member Patrick Reddy attests to the "very reasonably priced, good-quality meals."

And summer Fridays bring the best bang for the buck when members and guests can snag a room for as low as $70 and savor $3 drink specials and low-price bar favorites via the club's Gearing Down Plan, "easing you into the weekend." No nickel and diming here; not with free parking, access to the fitness facility and business center and complimentary newspapers in the lobby.
