Executive & Personal Coaching

By Jennifer Pascho

Have you come to a point in your life where you know you must change? You feel overwhelmed by your hectic schedule and can't make time for the things you love to do? If this is you, you're likely not the only one affected. Your hectic pace affects your family and friends. If you are ready to make a change, coaching is the perfect vehicle for helping you to create a strategy for making this shift.

Coaching is a one-on-one process devoted to helping you determine and achieve your vision for your life and work. Coaching is dynamic because it builds strategies based on what you value. This clarity helps you to create a vision that is compelling. In addition, coaching holds you accountable to follow-through with your goals. The coaching structure helps you focus, learn from your actions, and evaluate and refine your next move. This continuous cycle is empowering because it shows you that you have the will and the energy to succeed.

What's Good for Business is Good for You. Successful businesses have a vision and build strategies and tactics to promote that vision. Some companies go further by having a deep understanding of the core values that permeate the organization. In tough times, companies take stock in and return to the values that made them successful in the first place.

Doesn't it make sense that individuals should have a similar process that discovers core values, creates a vision and designs the steps to achieve the vision? Together you and your coach build strategies based on values. It is a one-on-one process devoted to helping you determine and achieve your vision for your life and work.

Executive Coaching

Executive coaching is designed for professionals needing work-related support. Personal values are identified and used as a springboard for developing your individual leadership stance.

Initially, the coaching relationship centers on the following concerns:
• Aspects of your performance
• A specific change in your behavior
• Strategies that improve your position within the organization
• A sounding board to bring clarity to an issue
• Burnout, which can affect your vision, balance and productivity
• Support through a transition or reorganization

Personal Coaching

Coaching begins by identifying your values or what matters to you most. The process examines what fulfills you and your philosophies, as well as your vision for your life and work. Next, all areas of your life are examined to see which values are being honored as well as suppressed. A strategy is then developed to align you with your values. Once the strategy is created, limiting beliefs are examined and reframed in order to keep you in action.

The following are some of the questions considered when evaluating life-balance:
• What gives you energy?
• What drains it?
• What consumes your time but doesn't fulfill you?
• What needs more attention in your life? What needs less?
• How do you take care of yourself on a daily basis?

The coaching relationship motivates people because they have someone who is their advocate—a person totally for them. When people are ready to change, things start falling into place at a speed they have not felt in a long time. This is no accident; living by your values simplifies your life.
