Planning a visit to the culturally, scholastically and historically rich gateway to New England? Then do your homework and book a stay at the Harvard Club, where both recent and longtime grads keep each other company. The main clubhouse offers 42 overnight rooms decked out with both Old World charm and modern-day comforts (read: high thread-count sheets and complimentary Wi-Fi), a swanky cocktail lounge, and, to every dancer's delight, the "Harvard Hall," a gorgeous space sure to evoke images of twirling tuxedos and ball gowns synchronized to a Viennese waltz. Planning an East Coast wedding? Consider this room very seriously!

WAC members honoring New Year's resolutions will appreciate the fitness facilities and squash courts. That is, until they consider a tempting bratwurst from nearby Fenway Park. The Harvard Club is conveniently located within walking distance of Boston's beloved Red Sox.

Don't care about the game? Walk one block another way toward popular Newbury Street, chock full of boutiques and internationally known shops, restaurants and bars—all charmingly set in historic brownstones.

If business calls, consider lunch at the Harvard Club's second location downtown. Located in the heart of the financial district on the 38th floor of One Federal Building, this club attracts members and guests with its great food and the surrounding panorama of Boston Harbor, the Charles River and the city skyline. Good luck trying to get any business done, however—the views could distract even the most focused executive.
