New Member Process

Tours

Personal tours are scheduled Monday through Friday through Member Services. Please call or email ahead to arrange an appointment and be sure to ask your Membership Representative about parking validation for WAC Parking. If you are unable to make your appointment, we ask that you let us know as soon as possible.

Sponsor Requirements

Applicants for Membership at the Washington Athletic Club must be recommended by
two existing Members of the Club: a primary sponsor and a secondary sponsor. The Membership Committee, comprised of WAC Members, meets monthly to review applications for submission to the Executive Committee, the Board of Governors and the general Membership.

Application Deadline

Member Services must receive the application, check for fees and dues, and sponsor
reference forms by the monthly application deadline. Check with Member Services for the exact date. Approved applications become effective on the first day of the following month.

Dues

Dues are billed on a monthly basis. Club charges are billed to member accounts each month. The Club billing closing date is the 25th. For complete information on Membership categories, initiation fees, dues and eligibility, please contact Member Services.

Firm Membership

A business may qualify for Washington Athletic Club's Firm Membership pricing, and avoid the Firm Establishment Fee, under one of the following two circumstances:

  • Two or more employees are current WAC Members
  • Two or more employees join the WAC in the same month.
Upon meeting one of the above criteria, businesses interested in Firm Membership must provide the WAC with the following:
  • A copy of the company's business license
  • A Firm Contact must be designated (Note: The Firm Contact must be willing to receive and distribute information from the WAC to fellow employees via email. A Firm Contact does not have to be a member of the WAC.)
  • A business card from each new employee who joins under the company's Firm Membership as verification of employment.
