Testimonials: "The first half of 2007 was frustrating for me in the gym. I had spent a lot of time and effort to achieve a certain goal and felt like my goal was not becoming a reality. One day I ran into Roy and proceeded to tell him about my lack of progress. He said he could get me where I wanted to go. We had a great conversation about my goals, Roy's philosophies and how we could work together to achieve these goals. We began our program that July and continue to tweak it as certain goals are achieved. I believe Roy's greatest quality as a trainer is that he listens to his clients. He realizes that every client is different and has the knowledge to develop programs to suit their individual needs. He makes working out fun! Don't get me wrong, Roy kicks my behind, but somehow manages to make me laugh while he's doing it. That is important for me. I enjoy the social aspect of working out as much as the physical aspect. The combination of fun and exercise has enabled Roy and I to form a friendship that I value very much. In fact, I consider Roy a friend who happens to be my trainer." – Chris Pallis
"Working out with Roy has pushed me to find new motivation to reach my fitness goals. There are two aspects that Roy brings me as a client. The first is his ever-present confidence in my abilities and that motivates me to always bring my best to each session. The second valuable ingredient he brings is the knowledge of how the body works; he knows what muscle needs to be strengthened and when it is time to change course or move to a new level. Roy has challenged and navigated me through years of workouts without injury and is always moving forward in my pursuits. Without Roy I would not have the knowledge to turn my motivation into the results I have seen over the years." – Andrea Piacentini
Favorite way to motivate clients: Coming from an athletic background, Roy likes to push his clients to a level of fitness they once were or to a level they have never been. One favorite way to motivate clients is to educate them on exercise so they really understand the value they are getting out of it.
Favorite client success story: Ruth Frantz wanted to get ready for her junior year as a rower at Syracuse University. She had a goal of making it to the varsity boat so she could return home the following year and row in front of her friends and family against the University of Washington. After training with Roy for a full summer, Ruth not only made the varsity boat but finished her remaining years on the varsity team.
