Remote learning center
A safe and encouraging place for virtual learning
The WAC Remote Learning Center provides a safe, secure and supportive environment for your K–6th grade students to complete their distance and virtual learning requirements. The center is intended for students ages 5–12. Older students may be accepted following discussion with the learning center manager.

Location & supervision
The center is currently located in the Noble Room on the lobby level of the WAC Clubhouse. Supervision is provided at a ratio of not more than eight pupils to one instructor.
Hours
The center is open 7:30 am–4:30 pm, Monday–Friday.
Last pickup by 5 pm. The center follows the closure, break, and vacation schedule of Seattle Schools. All closures and hour adjustments will be posted in advance.
Signing in and out
Participants must be signed in at drop-off and signed out at pickup.
Fees
All fees are billed monthly. Students entering the five-, four- and three-day option will receive priority registration. Limited daily service may be available based on enrollment.
- Five days a week: $985/month
- Four days a week: $940/month
- Three days a week: $895/month
Daily service available. Daily rate: $95. Reservations for daily service must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
Nonmember surcharge of $150/month or $20/day rate.
Initial fees required at enrollment. Subsequent fees will be charged to your WAC member account monthly. Fees are billed prior to the month of use and are nonrefundable for any reason other than an unexpected center closure.
*Note: No proration or refund of fees due to illness, absences, vacations, national holidays, unexpected emergencies, or teacher in-service training days.
Please respect the time and personal lives of center staff by ensuring that you allow yourself enough time to pick up your student(s) and depart by closing time. A late fee of $5 per minute/per child will apply for every minute your children are at the center past our last pickup time of 5 pm.

Activities
Students will be encouraged to take regular physical and mental breaks throughout the day. These will include time in the 8th Floor gym, on the running track, or engaging in socially distanced group activities.
Food and beverage
Parents are responsible for lunch.*
A morning breakfast-like snack will be served daily between 7:30–8:30 am. An afternoon snack will be provided daily between 2:30–4 pm.
Please also send a reusable water bottle for your children. The center will store it onsite if you prefer.
The center is nut-free. Please ensure that your children’s lunches are free of all nut products.
*Grab-and-go lunch options are usually available in the lobby-level Club Shop.
Health & safety guidelines
The following protocols will be strictly followed:
- Temperature checks at drop-off, as well as at intervals throughout the day
- Masks required
- Regular handwashing
- Hand sanitizer readily available
- Social distancing
Body temperature in excess of 100 degrees will exclude the student from remaining in the center for that day. They will be allowed to return when they have been fever-free for at least 48 hours.
Anyone who is showing signs of cold or flu may not attend. Those who become ill during the day must be picked up as soon as possible and may not return until they have been symptom-free for a minimum of 48 hours.

Medical emergencies
In the event of a medical emergency, qualified staff will administer appropriate first aid, emergency medical responders will be called, and parents will be notified. The child will be taken to the hospital designated on the “Consent to Care” form or one determined by emergency personnel to be the best option under the circumstances.

Please keep me home if…
- I’m vomiting (two or more times in 24 hours)
- I have diarrhea (three or more watery stools in 24 hours)
- I have a sore throat or swollen glands
- I have a temperature of more than 100 degrees
- I have a rash, lice or nits
- I have an eye infection
- I’m unusually tired or pale
- I lost my appetite
- I’m just not feeling very good
