Group swim lessons are held Saturday mornings in the WAC pool.

Infants learn water-adjustment techniques and basic water skills. Toddlers learn water adjustment, water skills, and introduction to swimming. Each child must be accompanied by at least one adult in class. Ages 6 months – three years.
Preschool 1/Preschool 1A
Brand new swimmers! This class is designed to help kids become comfortable in the water. All skills are performed with a teacher. Ages 3-5. The Preschool 1A class is made to accommodate ages 30-36 months (or older) who may be too old and/or too advanced for tiny tots.
Comfort in the water with an instructor, but minimal independent swim skills. Learn breath control and swimming on front and back with assistance. Ages 3-5.
Swimming three yards on front and back. Good breath control. Establishing foundations for freestyle and elementary backstroke. Ages 3-5.
Swimming seven yards on front and back. Comfort in deep water. Technical foundations for breaststroke, freestyle, and elementary backstroke. Ages 3-5.
Swimming five yards on front and back. Good breath control. Establishing foundations for freestyle and elementary backstroke. Ages 6+
Swimming 10 yards freestyle. Comfort in deep water. Technical foundations for breaststroke, freestyle, and elementary backstroke. Ages 6+
Swimming 12 yards freestyle with side breathing. Endurance to swim the length of the pool on front and back. Developing technique for breaststroke, butterfly and backstroke.
Swimming all four race strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly) 25 yards, refining coordination. Fundamental understanding of stroke mechanics.
Swimming all four race strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly) 50 yards with refined technique. Developed understanding of stroke mechanics, turns, and dives.
FAST (Class also available on Wednesdays)
Fundamentals Approaching Swim Team (FAST), focuses on building endurance and refining the four primary strokes, starts and turns. Great as an introduction to swim team, or for swimmers looking to get in another day of practice.
