Gilbert Quitlong

Washington Athletic Club Golf Instructor Gilbert Quitlong was practically born with a golf club in his hand. A Seattle native, he started playing alongside his dad when he was 3 years old. Those early days instilled a lifelong passion. Gilbert strives to teach WAC members the fundamentals of improving their game and to instill focus and knowledge that pay off on the links.

“I love helping everyone—from the true beginner to the seasoned veteran,” Gilbert says. “Seeing people’s faces after they reach a milestone is priceless. There’s something about hitting the sweet spot on that little golf ball. It’s hard to explain, but it only takes you one great shot to get hooked.”

Gilbert’s dedication inspired him to start a foundation that brings golf to unreached populations of women and minorities.

Gilbert teaches at Interbay Golf Center and on the 8th Floor of the WAC using the golf simulator. He is available for instruction Tuesdays through Saturdays. WAC members can schedule by emailing or calling 206.838.4549.
