Meet our Pilates instructors:
Anna’s lifelong interest in anatomy and physiology inspired her to complete a degree from the Russian Academy of Physical Fitness and Sport and enter the world of fitness training, where she first started teaching dance classes. Anna moved to Seattle in 2014 and got her first job teaching at a Russian language dance school in town. Unfulfilled by her work, Anna decided to explore other fitness modalities and eventually settled on Pilates. She studied at the Vitality Pilates School in Seattle. Anna enjoys helping her clients use Pilates to move better. She also works part time at Swedish Medical Center with patients who have neurological conditions.
Born and raised in Encinitas, California, Lauren grew up living in a health-conscious community. After graduating from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in dance and exercise studies, Lauren taught and danced in San Francisco for 14 years. Lauren received her classical Pilates certification from Metropolitan Pilates Seattle in 2015. She is also a certified Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 500 and taught yoga for over 10 years in the Bay Area. Lauren specializes in teaching Pilates to yoga-lovers by focusing on flow, the cultivation of breath, and development of body intelligence. Lauren offers a wealth of knowledge on how to safely strengthen and stretch the body and encourages training for longevity no matter the physical pursuit. Her motto is: “When form and function are in harmony, we are truly healthy.”
Svetlana is a contortionist performance artist and an original cast member of Teatro ZinZanni. Originally from Russia, she studied at the Kiev Circus Academy and has performed at some of the most distinguished venues in Europe. She started her M.A.T. Pilates certification program in 2015 in order to keep her body free from injury. She strongly believes in the Pilates method, body awareness, and functional movement.
Natalia has been in exercise training most of her working life. She holds an associate degree in physical therapy and has worked in the University of Washington’s physical therapy clinic for 11 years. She also ran her own Pilates studio for five years. Additionally, she has completed certifications in Stott Pilates, rehabilitative Pilates for health care providers, and as an orthopedic movement specialist.
Natalia’s special training in movement and rehabilitation are evident in her unique methods that combine Pilates and physical therapy. Her goal for all her clients is to effectively combine strength, flexibility, and ease of movement—all increasingly important as we age. She has extensive experience in alleviating joint and spinal pain. Posture-correction techniques—as needed by so many clients—are also her specialty.
Pilates private & semi-private training
Sessions by appointment. Private and duet sessions incorporate exercises on Pilates apparatus—reformer, Cadillac, chairs and barrels—as well as the mat.
