Cognitive training, Parkinson’s disease, and the aging adult Over and over again, scientific research tells us about the important connection between mind and body. For patients of Parkinson’s disease, using physical fitness to counteract the effects of brain degeneration is now common practice. Physical therapist Nate Coomer, founder of the Parkinson’s Fitness Project, will discuss “cognitive training” and how everyone can benefit—especially those fighting Parkinson’s, dementia, Alzheimer’s, and other causes of mental degeneration.
