Here’s a delicious, summery cocktail inspired by both the recent heat and the spectacular night sky display that is Comet NEOWISE! Created by WAC Restaurant Manger Ian De Vera, this drink conjures all the tastes of the season. “Imagine a bright sun with that alluring barbecue flavor in the afternoon air,” Ian says. This comet cocktail features bittersweet flavors, a hint of fresh lemon and cherries, and finishes with a smoky flavor in the back of your pallet. Use an ice ball to cool the drink, if available … it’s not unlike the cosmic snowball streaking through our sky!

Comet cocktail

  • 1 oz Roca Patron Añejo
  • .75 oz Fresh squeezed lemon Juice
  • .75 oz Campari
  • .75 oz Cherry Heering Liqueur
  • .25 oz Del Maguey Vida Mezcal

Combine Roca Patron Añejo, lemon juice, campari, and cherry liqueur in a shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into rocks glass with ice (ice ball preferred) then float with Del Maguey Vida Mezcal. Garnish with lemon wheel.
