Penelope, age 5; Lucille, age 1
Amanda and Chris Owusu joined the Club in 2015 and found an “instant sense of community, inclusiveness, and family,” Amanda says. After joining, Amanda and Chris became a family of their own with the birth of their daughters. The family lived in Seattle prior to the pandemic and moved to Tacoma in December 2020. Despite the move, they continue to enjoy the Club—especially Penelope, who has become quite the fan of Hagerty’s mac and cheese, doorman Charles Webster, and the friendly faces at WeeWACs. Mom, meanwhile, enjoys working out in Coed Fitness, treating herself to some relaxation at the Spa at the WAC, and sharing wine with friends. Chris takes boxing and spin classes and favors post-workout smoothies from the WAC Café and watching sports at Hagerty’s. “I would also be remiss if I didn’t mention our love of the WAC Santa and The Nutcracker performance,” Amanda says. And now that they live in Tacoma, bringing the family to the WAC for a staycation has emerged as a new family favorite.
