Rowing greats gather at WAC.

Seattle hosted what was at the time its largest-ever collegiate regatta in June 1947. Rowers from Yale, M.I.T., Columbia, Harvard, Wisconsin, Penn State, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Princeton, Syracuse, Cornell, and the University of Washington competed on a 2,000-meter course that ran south along the shore of Lake Washington. The WAC put on a number of pre-race dances and a post-race dinner honoring participants. The photo at left shows an earlier regatta.

As published in the July/August issue of WAC Magazine.
