George Sommerrock | Fitness Programs Manager
Born in Japan, George Sommerrock moved to Colorado during elementary school. He spent his childhood exploring the expansive outdoors of the Centennial State. Days and evenings biking, swimming, and playing baseball and tennis were an important part of his formative years. “We would stay out until sunset,” George says. “Being physically active is just how we socialized.” This nascent love for fitness—and a desire to avoid deskbound life—bloomed into a career. By 2012, George found himself recruited by the WAC. He began by teaching Zumba, and his knack for leadership helped him rise through the ranks quickly. He says he’s proud to lead a team of “outstanding, self-driven fitness entrepreneurs.” George strives to inspire passion in his team through communication, education, and occasional risk-taking. “I am continuously learning how to enhance my leadership skills,” he says. “Everyone wants to be here and to succeed. I am grateful for all the support I receive.”
