Yoga & Barre
Everett native Paul Flanagan always knew he was destined to perform. After graduating from Cascade High School, he immediately moved across the country to pursue his theatrical passion as a student at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. He remained in the Big Apple for eight years, dancing and acting in theaters throughout the city. Unfortunately, Paul’s rising star came to a screeching halt when he was hit by a taxi and broke his ankle, prompting his move back to Washington state for surgery and recovery. Upon getting the go-ahead from his doctor, Paul took up yoga and quickly thereafter began teacher training. “I thought I was done dancing,” Paul says. “Yoga changed my life journey—without it I wouldn’t be dancing today.” After achieving a full recovery, Paul opened A Sensible Theatre Co., a queer-centered theater company where he hosts a monthly cabaret series, among other shows. He continues logging hours on the mat with four fitness classes per week at the WAC, where he has worked since 2016.
