Membership All-Star: Andrew Jacob

Fitness and fun

This All-Star stays in shape and socializes at the Club

Written by Madelyn Reese and Mae Jacobson

Andrew Jacob moved to Seattle in 2011. Shortly afterward, a friend introduced him to the WAC. It was exactly what Andrew needed after relocating from Ohio.

As a former competitive skier and current golfer and ice hockey player, Andrew values the WAC for its fitness offerings. To compete on the green and the ice, Andrew works out three times a week. “I use the Club primarily to work out and keep up my general health and fitness,” he says. “I also definitely find myself in Hagerty’s, often having drinks or entertaining friends.”

Andrew works in digital media for the technology startup PushSpring, based in the Fremont neighborhood. After a long day of work, he often decompresses at the WAC. He considers the Club an integral part of his life, calling it his “home away from home.”

Andrew also takes advantage of the Club’s vast networking opportunities. “I’ve met so many good friends through the WAC,” he says. “There’s a certain camaraderie. I also enjoy Club events, especially Jubilee and The Main Event.”

Andrew brings guests to The Main Event every year, using it as a recruiting tool for those he thinks would make great WAC members.

“I bring new members to the Club because I value fun, interesting and passionate people,” he says. “It always helps to invite people to The Main Event. They love it!”
