Play Pebble Beach … on the 8th Floor

Simulator brings virtual golf to the Club—and it’s a blast!

Are you a golfer who’d rather enjoy a beer and some snacks in the warmth of the WAC Café than play through a soggy day? Or maybe you’d prefer putt-putt, Skee-Ball, or darts (all with a golf club). The WAC’s new aboutGOLF-brand simulator offers something for everyone—and for all ages!

Located inside the WAC Café in a former court space, the simulator offers dozens of course selections from around the world—from Pebble Beach to St. Andrews.

“The technology is truly amazing,” says WAC Senior Vice President Athletics, Special Projects & Community Partners Wayne Milner. “I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of smiling faces and hearing a lot of laughter coming from this new space.”

Players will use their own clubs or one of the house sets to hit balls into a life-sized high-definition display. Using multiple cameras, multi-point swing analysis, and specially designed golf balls, the simulator will show your shot as it sails perfectly down the fairway … or slices into the rough. After all, this is golf just like it’s played outside.

“Members are going to love this addition to the Club,” Wayne says. “It’s going to energize the 8th Floor.”

WAC Golf Instructor Gilbert Quitlong will be offering lessons using the simulator, and the space will be open for movie screenings, parties, and other events, as well as solo and group play.

Gone are the days of frost delays and muddy fairways. Now you can choose your course, your weather, and even take a mulligan or two … just like normal.
