From beaches to history, there’s lots to love in Norfolk
By Amanda Brynn, Director Member Services & Club Programs
The Norfolk Yacht and Country Club is located on the beautiful waterfront of the Lafayette River, just 15 minutes north of downtown Norfolk, on the southeast coast of Virginia. This family-friendly reciprocal club provides an excellent option for respite and fun while enjoying all the history and maritime activities of the bustling Hampton Roads region of Virginia.
The club offers three outdoor pools, an indoor pool and spa, kayaks and paddleboards for cruising the river, and indoor and outdoor tennis courts available for year-round use. In addition, there are two floors of fitness facilities that provide a wide variety of cardio equipment, free-weights, training tools, and excellent views via floor-to-ceiling windows. The club also offers a youth activity room as well as childcare.
Reciprocal visitors can dive into Norfolk’s seafaring history at nearby Nauticus maritime discovery center, stroll through Norfolk Botanical Garden, and visit the Chrysler Museum of Art. A short drive will take you out of the city to the expansive sandy beaches of Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.
Established in 1896, the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club will have you believing Virginia really is for lovers!
