WAC Junior of the Month: Freya Larsen

WAC JUNIOR OF THE MONTH: Freya Larsen

August 2016

Eleven-year-old Freya Larsen began ice skating three years ago after receiving a pair of figure skates for Christmas. An incoming sixth-grader, Freya skates with her coach at Highland Ice Arena in Shoreline. Most recently, Freya landed her single axel, a jump that consists of one and a half rotations in the air. She continues to work toward landing the single axel consistently so it can be part of her regular performance, and she hopes to land a double axel someday. In addition to being a member of the Highland Skate Club, Freya plays ultimate Frisbee. She also enjoys swimming at the WAC, skiing in winter, and wakeboarding in summer. She ice skates year-round and volunteers at Maple Leaf Pet Corner in Wedgwood. Freya says she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up.
